Outdoor Wedding Altar
If you wish to book one of our wedding dress care packages, we would be delighted to be part of your wedding journey from saying yes to your dream dress through to making your gown fit you perfectly. We just love seeing you at your final fitting just a couple of weeks before your special day. The excitement is infectious!


Complimentary styling appointments can be booked on weekdays between 10am and 2pm. We suggest doing this around 3 months before your wedding.

If you would like to book your bridesmaids in or if your Mother or Mother in Law to be needs alterations let us know and we can provide a quote to you. We can book you all in for fittings together.

Terms and Conditions of Purchase

 

These are the terms and conditions on which we supply a service to you. Please read these terms carefully before confirming your order. These terms tell you who we are, how we will provide a service to you, how you and we may change or end the contract, what to do if there is a problem and other important information. We are Boutique of Dreams Ltd, a company registered in England, company number: 10340741. We are a VAT registered company, VAT number: 327769462. If we have to contact you we will do so by telephone or by writing to you with the details you provided to us in your order. It is your responsibility to notify us of any changes. When we use the words "writing" or "written" in these terms, this includes letters, emails and social media messages.

1. OUR CONTRACT WITH YOU

  • How we will accept your order. Our acceptance of your order will take place when we tell you that we are able to provide you with the service, which shall be after you have confirmed the order using the order form. At this point a contract will come into existence between you and us

  • If we cannot accept your booking. If we are unable to accept your order, we will inform you of this and will not charge you for the service.

 

2. OUR FITTING SERVICE

  • Once we have supplied you with your wedding gown, we have fulfilled our contractual obligation to you. Our fitting service is a separate service, which is optional for both parties.

  • Our fitting service operates usually on a Monday between 10am-6pm and one Saturday per month between 10am-3pm. If you decide to use our fitting service, you agree that the fittings will take place between these times. If you are unable to attend during these hours, we will not be able to offer you our fitting service.

  • You will be provided with our package charges at the time of the booking. You will be advised of the cost in advance of any work being carried out. There are two packages available to book for standard alterations. Bespoke work will be quoted to you in writing after your 1st alteration appointment with us.

  • Standard alterations include front hem shortening, taking the gown in on the side seam and the shortening of any straps. This also includes adding a bustle to your wedding dress. The package includes the gown being steamed/pressed once alterations have been completed in preparation for your final fitting. All necessary fittings are included in the package. If you require additional fittings we will let you know at your first fitting

  • If you require bust cups these are an additional £15.

  • Any bespoke work such as adding or removing sleeves/straps, infilling the bust with extra lace or detail, restructuring busts, removing trains, changing necklines/backs, adding beading/lace and adding ribbon to straps will be quoted to you separately after your first appointment.

  • Bridal gowns can usually be altered by a maximum of 1-2 UK dress sizes, wholly depending on the cut of the gown. On occasions, it is not possible to make any alterations to the bodice of a gown. We will advise you of what is possible with your particular gown. We reserve the right to refuse to provide our fitting service if we believe that you have unrealistic expectations as to what the alterations can reasonably be performed or if you are requiring alterations beyond 1-2 dress sizes.

  • Fittings will need to be commenced at least 8 weeks before your wedding date. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have booked your first fitting sufficiently in advance of your wedding. We can only accommodate a certain number of alterations a month; and operate on a first come first served basis. Once we are fully booked we will be unable to offer you this service.

  • At your first fitting appointment, you will require your bridal shoes and any underwear you will be wearing on your wedding day and a hoop if you have one. We are able to supply hoops/petticoats to wear with your gown; this is an additional cost to you. If you wish to use your own hoop/petticoat, you will need to bring this to your first fitting as the diameter of the hoop and length of the hoop will impact the hem length. Without your shoes or hoop (if you are wearing one); the fitting appointment may not be able to proceed. In this instance we will need to rebook your fitting appointment and a charge of £50 will be payable.

  • Hooks and eyes are used to guide the zipper/closure only. They are not an integral part of the dress. As they are held together by very fine thread, it is possible that they will come loose on the day under stress/strain. This is not unusual and will not result in your gown falling down or loosening in any way.

  • Button up trains. We use buttons and loops to bustle up your train for the evening. These are delicate thread and will not withstand extreme pressure such as a guest stepping on the train. Care must be taken at all times.

  • Once your first fitting has taken place, your dress will be altered to fit your measurements at that time.We will not be held responsible for any weight loss/gain or any other changes in your measurements and sizing after this time. If your measurements do change after your first fit which results in the need for additional alterations (ie if you lose weight and the dress needs to be taken in more, or if you gain weight and the dress needs to be let out), we reserve the right to refuse to make any additional alterations to the dress as:

    • there may not be sufficient time to make additional alterations before your wedding

    • dresses can only be taken in or let out by a maximum of 1-2 sizes. If we do agree to carry out additional alterations following a change in measurements, you will be responsible for any additional costs.

  • You will be required to make an initial payment of 50% of your package cost for your standard alterations upon booking and 50% of your bespoke work costs upon receipt of the quote. A further 25% is payable at your first fitting and the balance will be due one week before your final fitting. In any event payment in full must be made before the product leaves the premises. The initial payment reserves the use of the boutique and the time spent on communication and arranging this service and sewing time. In the event of you cancelling this service the initial payment will not be returned but you will not be liable for the remainder of any fees quoted to you that would have become due once alterations were completed.

  • Rescheduling or failing to attend fittings Please give us at least 36 hours notice if you require to rearrange your appointment. Failure to do this or failure to attend your fitting will result in an additional £50 being payable to rebook another fitting. It may not be possible to move your fittings during peak season so please ensure you have booked the time off work in advance if you need to do so.

  • If there is a problem.If there is a problem please notify us at your fitting. If you leave the premises and notify us after, we reserve the right to charge an additional fee for the extra fitting of £50 per fitting.

  • Collection: once your gown leaves the boutique this is deemed of acceptance of your dress and that it is of satisfactory condition and you are happy with the works completed.

3. STORAGE

  • Storage costs. We will store each product until your final fitting as agreed via email. This will be communicated to you. After this date, we reserve the right to charge storage at £1 per calendar day thereafter.

  • Product access. If you wish to collect the gown prior to the date agreed on the order form, you may do this by prior appointment. If you wish to try your product on during the storage period, we charge a set fee for this of £50 for a 45 minute appointment.

  • Storage in the event of cancellation or postponement. In the event that the wedding date is postponed or cancelled, we ask you to collect your gown within a reasonable time scale. If your dress remains uncollected after a period of 12 months either

    • after your wedding date (as advised on the order form); or

    • if no date was stated on the order form, 12 months after notification of postponement or cancellation, then we reserve the right to dispose of your dress. We reserve the right to charge storage at £1 per calendar day, starting 28 days after notification to us of the wedding cancellation.

 

This does not affect your statutory rights.
